About Us

Sierra Defensible Space, a Brush Removal and Land Clearing Company, is owned and operated by Scott and Jen Wofford. Sierra Defensible Space is woman owned and firefighter operated. Scott and Jen teaming up and creating Sierra Defensible Space is a true blessing from God.

Scott started his firefighter career here locally at Newcastle Fire Department and retired from Los Angeles Fire Department with over 25 years of experience fighting fires all across California. With Scott’s extensive knowledge and experience of wildland firefighting, local terrain and vegetation, he is the one you want guiding you on your defensible space needs, fuel removal and restoring your property to a park like setting. Scott is truly passionate about firefighting and saving homes. In his free time Scott enjoys riding his Ducati and anything in the great outdoors, whether it is hiking or camping, or just taking in God’s creation!

Jen loves helping support Scott in carrying out God’s plans and to also free him up to do what he does best, work in his excavator and hug trees with his chain saw! With Jen’s extensive background in business and love for serving the community, she enjoys the other side of operating Sierra Defensible Space – managing the office, marketing and business development. In Jen’s free time she enjoys gardening, studying the bible, and spending time in God’s creation with Scott.

Scott and Jen married in October of 2022 at their small church in Newcastle and live with their German Shepherd, Rayne, in Rocklin. Two things they enjoy the very most are spending time with family and spreading the Good News!
